Horse-jumping

The international Horse-jumping compatition takes place in Piazza Siena, when riders and horses of the highest level compete in this fascinating event and the public enjoys the sight of the competition against the backdrop of the park of Villa Borghese.The most difficult number in the event is the 'Coppa delle Nazioni'. On the last day italian Carabinieri offer their own show of style and ability in the Historical Carousel.

Rose Exhibition

This is an international exhibition with Prizes for the best new variety of rose.It takes place in the Valle Murcia rose garden which stays open to the public for nearly a month.The opening date each year depends on the flowers.

Rome Trade Fair

Important exhibition of industrial production from all over Italy.The side of the Fair is in Via Cristoforo Colombo and covers an area of 110,00sq.mt, with1,300 exihibitios.

Barabbata

14th of May there is an interesting festival to see that is linked to the ancient tradition of faith and popular culture is the 'Barabbata' of Marta, a delightful town on the shores of the Lake of Bolsena.

Estate Romana

Started in the late seventies to animate Roman Summertime, today the Estate Romana has become the central event of Rome Municipality's cultural policies.Each Summer, from July to October, the Roman Summer offers an extremaly rich variety of performances, ranging from music to dance, theatre, cinema and many other artistic and cultural performances which, over the last few years, have been set up not only in the city centre but also in the suburban districts.

'La festa de Noantri' is an ancient floklore festivity held in trastevere traditionally to celebrate the Madonna del Carmine, with lights, songs, eating outdoors.

The Feast of the Assumption of Our lady is usually celebrated by Roman's with a day-tripout of town.Once they use to go to the 'Castelli Romani' in the Alban Hills to drink the white wine produced over there. Nowadays the motorways take them even further and the great city itself becomes a tranquil haven for those who remain behind.

Macchina di S. Rosa

Another unique festa, much loved by visitors from afar, takes place in Viterbo on 3rd of September, when the 'Macchina di S. Rosa', a 30mt high tower covered by a thousand lights is carried around the town.

On the morning of the feast of the Immaculate Conception the fireman of the cityof Rome take one of thei longest extending ladders and put a wreath on the statue of Our Lady in Piazza Spagna.Throughout the rest of the day the Romans continue putting other gifts of flowers at foot of the column and in the evening the Holy father himself comes to pay homage to the Madonna.

Is not really well known like Brasil's Carneval but is considered part of the tradition of the country,it is celebrated specially from children;they mask themself to them pet heros. During the last week is possible to follow the floats around the city center, if you are lucky you can go back home with sweetmeats. It is worth seeing 'Festa della Radeca' in Frosinone at carnival time ,when all the participants must carry an agave leaf.An even greater carnival festival takes place in Ronciglione.

San Valentino

Is not exactly a holiday but is a good occasion to remember how important is to love and be loved. The roman people celebrate this day with the family while the sweethearts go around the city and they never forget to buy a bunch of roses.

Festa della donna

Is not realy religious festival,usually the girls receive a bunch of mimosa from everybody,in the streets or at home or in the office,that is a goog opportunity to remember how important is the list of the women in the life. The roman women go to have party during the evening,in this occasion there are many discosand private clubs which organise woman events.
